World Down Syndrome Day
World Down Syndrome day will be taking place on 21 March 2019. We would like to celebrate our differences by rocking socks. We ask you to let your children wear their most colourful, fun and even mismatched socks to school on Wednesday 20 March 2019.

Celebrating differences

Down syndrome (sometimes called Down’s syndrome) is a condition in which a child is born with an extra copy of their 21st chromosome — hence its other name, trisomy 21.

This causes physical and mental developmental delays and disabilities.

With cultural and institutional support, people living with Down Syndrome can live healthy and fulfilling lives.

Help us remove the stigma of Down Syndrome by discussing it with your children, by encouraging empathy and understanding of those who are "different" and supporting our Rock your Socks day.
